NYALA AND GOLDEN WILDEBEEST: SHARED CAMP - GAME BREEDING PROJECT TIPS

The Purple Rain golden wildebeest and nyala breeding projects share a breeding camp, unfortunately this time of year it seems like there is too much competition at the feeding troughs and the wildebeest are out-competing the nyalas when it comes to feeding time.
We have therefore built a feeding spot that only the nyalas can enter and exit, where the nyalas can feed at peace and leisure without the wildebeest disturbing them. We made use of our existing boma and just added removable gates of 1.5m high with 30cm bars across.
It seems to be working like a bomb and we find up to 25 nyalas feeding in the boma at times!
